About Dr. Ouimette

Education and Background

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in New York. I received my Ph.D. in Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook in 1994 after completing my pre-doctoral internship at the Boston VA Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine in 1994, where I had specialty training in trauma, PTSD, addictions, and child psychology.

I have completed certificates in tele-mental health and mindfulness and psychotherapy.


I have worked in university settings such as Washington State University and in medical centers including the Boston, Palo Alto/Menlo Park, and Syracuse Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare systems.


I have held academic appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine, SUNY Upstate Medical University and Syracuse University. 


Prior to full-time practice, I dedicated my career to research that advanced knowledge on psychiatric conditions such as depression, trauma-related issues, and addiction, publishing numerous articles including 3 edited volumes on PTSD.
